Alex manages the Himalayan Trust NZ and Hillary Outdoors, carrying on the philanthropic legacy of his grandfather, Sir Edmund Hillary. In this episode, he shares about a spontaneous expedition to the remote Olivine Ice Plateau, located in a wilderness area. Despite the lack of information about their route, they navigated the challenging terrain and had a successful 10-day adventure. Alex shares tips for other's that want to start outdoor adventures and emphasises how lucky we are with our resources in New Zealand. He shares about the Summit Challenge that takes place every year in March and invites you to sign up!
