Debbie Cartwright has always had a deep love for the outdoors. She shares about how it took her 47 years to start tramping. Debbie’s first overnight hike was the Canyon Creek Track in Ahuriri Conservation Park. Her first time with a pack, almost forgetting her hiking poles and having a really windy night, Debbie shares all the ups and downs of that first time. Over the next three years, she has levelled up her hiking game with multiple tramps, snow skills and overseas trips as well. Debbie shares about the differences returning to Canyon Creek with more experience under her belt and has lots of amazing tips and advice for new hikers about gear and mindset. Next, Debbie wants to revisit some of her ‘misadventures’ and give them another go!
