The Te Araroa Trail stretches from Cape Reinga in the north to Bluff in the south. Aimee Roberts spent a couple of months walking the South Island section of the trail over summer. While it’s impossible to condense her experience into a short conversation, Aimee shares snippets into what it was like – bathtubs in the middle of the backcountry, the bluest water she’d ever seen, getting lost and climbing an unnecessary hill, crossing waist deep streams in a human chain, being woken by possums at 3am, even giving a fellow walker a tattoo!! We talk about Aimee’s challenges, her feelings, the people she met and the things that surprised her most. Buckle up, you’re in for a wild ride and you’re guaranteed to be grinning throughout the whole episode just like I was.
Thank you so much for tuning in and coming along for the ride. If you love the show and enjoyed listening, please take the time to leave a review on Apple or Spotify.
